*Sensitivity Reminder*
It is super important that we all remember to refrain from saying things like "just relax" or "don't try so hard" to people who are ttc. We must be very sensitive to their struggles b/c making a baby isn't as easy for some or as fast as it is for others and saying things like that, though maybe well meaning - ends up being hurtful to the recipient. Calendar Guidelines
In order to keep the calendar chaos-free, we have to ask that you limit your entries to birthdays, due dates and important anniversaries. Also keep in mind that any date you post is viewable by all members- it is not a personal calendar! Any events other than these will be pruned to prevent clutter. Thanks for understanding!

Siggy Guidelines
We have talked quite a bit about siggies in the mod room and debated back and forth. The challenge is to not stifle creativity and fun, but at the same time prevent big siggies that take a lot of the page.

Your siggy has four lines. The intent is for:
1 Text Line
1 Pic Line
2 Ticker lines

A siggy may only have 1 pic line. The pic line can have multiple pics in it going across, but it should not exceed 320 pixels high. This means those of you that have pics on top of each other will need to change them.

Ticker lines may be substituted for Text. For example, you might have a name, DSO, and DD line and you might have a quote line.

The primary focus of these guidelines is to focus on the use of pictures. Pictures should be no more than 320 pixels high and no longer stacked on top of each other.

B/c at the time I was pregnant and I had "love in my belly" but that pregnancy ended in a loss, I contemplated changing my name but others said I shouldn't so it is now a belly waiting for love to be in it :wink:

Since my m/c in May of this year. So 4 months. But the last 2 are the ones where we have really tried. Right after the m/c we waited a month per dr.s orders and then slowly got back into it.

How did you find out about APA?

Searching for when a heart beat should be heard.

How long at TTC: Actually I am not really ttcing....make any sense? I dont' believe in b/c because of so many side effects and i always forget to take the silly little pill. So my doctor suggested natural family planning, only doing it the opposite, not that mike and i would be upset if i did get pg we would be so happy just as you all. I started charting in September 06 and then became so interested and one day up popped this on google and here i am glad I am here....this is an awesome place to learn about so much i didn't know about before!

This is our 40th. month TTC. Yep, three years and four months. We have done clomid, IUI and IFV. We know our turn is coming soon! Oh, and we have unexplained infertility which is frustrating!

Actually, my parents came up with it, and I didn't bother to get more creative. I like my name.

How long have you been TTC?
One month or eleven months, but it's a little complicated. We were fortunate enough to get pregnant the first month we tried, almost a year ago, and I discovered APA about 4 months into my pregnancy. I hung out with the August moms and delivered a healthy baby girl, Esme Claire, two months ago. The day after we brought her home from the hospital we found her passed away in her bedside bassinette, from SIDS. DH and I just got the word from our hospital that no problems were found, it seemed to be straightforward (if that's possible) SIDS, and that any future children we conceive would not appear to be at elevated risk. My hormones are still settling down from the pregnancy, so although I've had AF, I'm not ovulating yet.

How did you find out about APA?
I don't even remember, it was so long ago. I lurked for a while before I became active, mostly in the August moms. I remember I checked out a couple of other pregnancy forums, and this seemed like the nicest one.

Anything else you'd like to add?
Throughout my pregnancy, Esme's death, the grieving process, and as I recover, APA has been an incredible support. People here knew more about my fairly uneventful pregnancy than anyone else besides DH, so there was a connection there. When Esme died, I got cards from people I'd never met in real life, and actually not just people from my close-knit August moms group. When a joy or tragedy happens to one of us, it affects us all. People who have been through similar situations have been an incredible help and inspiration to me. Now I try to check the Pregnancy Loss section to see what support I can offer to others when I feel up to it. TTC isn't a forum I've been in much, but hopefully I'll get added to the November testers soon and learn my way around.

We've been TTC since last January, conceived for the first time in May and lost the baby at 11 weeks (August 2006). We just started trying again after letting everything get back to normal after our loss.

How did you come up with your username?
It's a nickname from college - a combination of my first initial and the beginning of my maiden name that we used for computer log-in.

How long have you been TTC?
Feels like forever. :wink: Went off the Pill in Sept '05, started really TTC in Feb '06, got pregnant the first cycle, was diagnosed with a missed MC (and had a D&C) in May (thought we were 11w3d but it had stopped progressing at 8w3d) and we've been trying again ever since. So we're in our fifth cycle this time around...

How did you find out about APA?
Internet surfing while pregnant earlier this year but have really gotten addicted (!) ever since our MC.

I think the support and friendship people find here is really incredible and I know the knowledge I've gained just from poking around has been invaluable.

I tried a couple of things and they were already used so I pulled my username out of thin air.

My DBF and I have not used BC since my 30th birthday that was 2 years ago this Feb. We haven't really been 'trying' but we haven't been NOT trying. Since it hasn't happened yet and my doctor is starting to think PCOS I have started OPKs since Oct. I know I did ovulate in Nov.

I am surprised at how anxious this makes me. Being 36 and TTC for the first time, hoping the vasectomy reversal was successful-- there are just so many factors that could complicate it. So I guess I am cautiously So I guess I am cautiously optimistic. I ovulated yesterday, I think, so now I'm in the 2 week wait...

Hello everyone! I'm new here so I'll give a quick intro. DH (35) and I (33) have been ttc #3 for over a year now. We planned to start trying in 2005 but found out dh was being deployed to Iraq so we delayed......we then started trying once he got home but since I have very irregular periods, nothing happened. We tried for 9 months before we found out dh was then being deployed to Afghanistan. He was gone for 5 months and when he returned we began trying again.

We are now 4 month in and still ttc. I was finally referred to an RE and had my first appt. 2 weeks ago. Amazingly AF appeared the same day! (First time in 3 months!) Doctor immediately started me on clomid (days 3-7) :D

I took my last pill 7 days ago and am hoping for the best however, dh has been out of town all week for a conference! :evil: He gets home tomorrow so hopefully he won't be late for bding! Thanks for listening and I hope everyone has had a great weekend!

How long have you been TTC? Official TTC since May 2007 (with temping and charting and all that jazz). Started NPP in November 2006, got pregnant in February 2007 - unfortunatelly it turned out to be ectopic and ended with a surgery on March 21, 2007. Then we skipped a cycle, bought a thermometer and got back to business in May.

How did you find out about APA? Googling for early pregnancy symptoms. I lurked around since November last year and then joined in January this year.

Anything else you'd like to add? APA has been a lifesaver during the dark days of dealing with my loss. I drew a lot of support from the ladies here who have been in my shoes. Especially, I found a wonderful friend in one of the members who has had ectopic pregnancy and surgery shortly before me. We have cried on each other's shoulders and have been supporting each other every single day since. I am forever grateful. ... On a much lighter note ... I realized we are definitely deep in this TTC business because as of a few days ago even DBF refers to sperm as "spermies". :)

i just had a laparoscopic procedure done to remove an ectopic pregnancy.i just turned 27 (DH is 29) and i've been told that an EP is supposedly more common with middle-aged women.it was my first pregnancy and i have never had an induced abortion,never tried oral contraceptives,no PID, no previous op in my uterus,never smoked a single cig (although i can safely say that i am one of the worst passive smokers in the world perhaps because growing up,all the grown ups in my household smoked like its their religion). in short, i am really shocked why i had an EP.
i had my right tube removed because the embryo has already ruptured.
so here i am, trying to look for people who has gone through the same thing to find strength, good advice on how to cope, and all the hope i can get from those who have gone through the same experience.

How long have you been TTC? This is our first month of trying after stopping BCP last month. Though I guess we are right now more just NPP with attempting to target the window. I am not ready for charting since I am not exactly sure what my cycles will be (though was always pretty regular whether on the pill or off...just been a while since I have been off).

Anything else you'd like to add? I am 28 yrs old with hubby being 30. We have a furry baby, she is a cockapoo and definitely mommys little princess, my sister says that we forgot to tell her she is a dog and not a person. LOL
I am also a bit worried about having troubles getting pg even though I have no reason to think that since we have never tried before. Probably comes from reading way too much medical literature (I have been doing a lot of searches recently for the infertility clinic at the hospital). But I figure that we are both pretty young still and we are both healthy....in fact I am the healthiest I have really ever been. 2.5 years ago, I had a gastric bypass and lost about 150 lbs. I already take all sorts of vitamins, will have to for life and know that my blood levels of all that are great. I am hypothyroid but my levels have been stable with replacement therapy for years. I am about a size 18, still still a bit overweight but way better than before surgery!
So for now, I am just trying to not get crazy and stay relaxed and have fun....I think that I would drive my husband up the wall and turn him off if I got too obsessed and clinical.

Our timing might have been slighty off this month....we Bd on the 6th and 12th and I *think* I o'd around the 9th (we had planned on more action but my sister was in the hospital....we thought it might have been rocky mountain spotted fever but now an autoimmune disorder is suspected....so we were staying with my parents while visiting her and were just too tired and stressed). So I guess that there is always a chance and I might be testing at the end of the month.

Forgive my tardiness...

How did you come up with your username? When everyone around you (coworkers, family members, neighbors and friends) are PG, it's easy to see the world in pink and blue, no?

How long have you been TTC? DH and I are more NPP-type-folk. We agreed early on in our marriage that we never wanted it to become a chore (not knocking the process), but rather something that "just happened." However, I will say that we're both focused and ready to start our family, so for the sake of the question, I'll say we've been TTC since May.

How did you find out about APA? In February of 2006, I got a surprising BFP (we were NOT trying at all - not even NPP) and, frantic for information, I googled pregnancy symptoms and APA came up. We later miscarried and, again, APA was there.

Anything else you'd like to add? DH and I will celebrate 7 years of marriage next month, so we're ready to get this show on the road!

My doctor thought I might have had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, but I guess I don't. But I still don't have my periods without taking Provera. I so desperately want a baby soon, and my husband and I are talking about it but not actively trying since I don't even ovulate right. After trying and testing and testing and trying, we were told this January that it would take a miracle for us to get pregnant without IVF/ICSI. I wasn't really producing mature eggies and Andy has low count, low morph., and low mot.. We prayed and struggled with this decision, but finally came to the conclusion that we wouldn't feel closure on this chapter until we at least gave it a try. We have time to work on adoption after all, but my eggs aren't getting any younger!! So, our target date is August 9th and we were just waiting on AF this month to start the scans and bloodwork. I actually thought we had gotten our miracle this month because I had no AF symptoms and was 4 days late as of this morning, which NEVER happens (I'm kinda like clockwork). Anyway, my euphoric bubble of hope burst at lunch when AF reared her ugly head out of nowhere. I'm disappointed, but I keep reminding myself that we have a plan!!

Well, sorry to go on and on. I have just kept silent on this issue for SO long (not even our family knows) that it all came spilling out today. Thank you for listening.

Good luck, though adoption is also a good option. My auntie waited until she was 40 for kids and after 2 tries of artifical insemination, she just decided to adopt (she has endo and her partner had a hysterectomy a few years before even though she is the younger of the two so that wasn't an option). I now have a 5 yr female cousin and 3 year old male cousin (and I am 28 so it's funny to have such little cousins). My family couldn't love them more! Plus, I swear that nuture is stronger than nature because their personalites and behaviors so like their moms.

Anyway, good luck to you in August!

Christy, welcome. I am in a similar boat - waited until my mid 30s to start. I think you will find charting very helpful and it will give you a great starting point working with your doctor. How did you find out about APA? Isearching the internet at work trying due to up my chances of conceiving baby#2

Anything else you'd like to add? i havve been ttc for the past year with no positive results. I feel like im wanting a baby too much and that why im not getting preg or at least that what everyone I ask tell me, that Im wanting a baby too much and that why im not getting one.. :cry:

How did you come up with your username? my maiden name was super common. In college our emails were firstname.lastname@college.edu. Well, there were so many Melissa "Maidename" that I became melissa.a2.maidenname! I wasn't even the only Melissa A! So it kind of stuck as a nickname ... Mel A2
