Question Trigger post ?

Do you give yourself the trigger or your Dr office?

I live about 40 minutes from my doctor and I really didn't want to drive all the way in there on a Saturday just to get a shot. My mom gives herself insulin so she gave me my trigger shot. There was no way I could do it myself plus DH refused to do it too. We both hate needles and stuff.

The two I had were at the doctor's office. Basically went in for the ultrasound and got trigger right after.

I've had to do both depending on which doctor or nurse I happened to see that day. The first trigger shot, the nurse was doing my u/s so she injected me with the trigger shot. The next two cycles I had the RE doing my u/s and they told me to go home and give myself the shot that night.

I wonder if it also could depend on whether or not you are doing injectables. My first cycle I just did Femara, so maybe that's why the nurse did the shot. But the second and third cycles I did Femara and Gonal-F injections, so I had to attend a class to learn how to inject myself. I guess those times the doctor figured that I was already injecting myself with the Gonal-F, so I could do the trigger myself too.

I did mine myself. I didn't think I would be able to do it, but my nurse told me to numb a spot on my belly with an icepack and then do the shot. I just poked it in there really slow and didn't feel a single thing. It really wasn't bad. I did it three times before I got pregnant and it was no big deal. My RE's office didn't do them for anyone, they make you do your own.

How are you doing? I have not seen you on here in a while.
