So disappointed...

So I had my first IUI almost two weeks ago. The RE said I had two eggs (one on each side) and DH's count was pretty good at 11 mil as compared to his initial test. That and I was put on progesterone twice a day two days later. I thought we were in a pretty good place and that is was really going to happen. I am suppose to test on Monday, but I was excited and decided to test this morning with a home preg test, and it was a negative. I have been crying ever since. What went wrong? I thought a lot of couples got pregnant only after their first IUI? I feel lost and alone, and I just don't know what to do with myself. Does anyone have any encouraging stories? Anything please.

Some women get it the first time but the majority of us get it within the first 3 IUIs. Also, some people get bfn before getting a bfp so don't give up yet. It is not over until the witch shows. Good luck!

I am sorry, I too thought my first IUI would be the ticket but it took us 6. Hang in there!

it's always such a disappointment when you find a month didn't work throughout this entire process. We all know how you are feeling. I know that doesn't make it any easier, but sometimes it helps to know others are dealing with the same disappointments.

I do want to say, though, that a neg hpt doesn't 100% mean you aren't pregnant. 48hrs can change a lot. You could be pregnant, but there's not enough hcg to show up on the test. I'm sure you know this, but just as a reminder, hcg count should double ever 48hrs (well, apx, at least), and so taking another test on Monday could yield a different result. I wouldn't lose all hope just yet.

I'm sorry it's a hard day for you. But, like the ladies above said, it's entirely possible that you just tested too soon. Hang in there and give it a couple days.. Especially with HPT..could take longer for positive to show.
